Bryn Shander je největším městem Planiny ledového větru a je obchodním uzlem spojující Desetiměstí se zbytkem světa. Jako jediné město Desetiměstí má kamenné hradby. Díky své velikosti a strategickému postavení je bráno jako hlavní město Desetiměstí.
Městský erb se skládá z černého paroží nad vertikálně položeném zlatém klasu na bílém poli. Tato heraldika reprezentuje sílu a prosperitu města v jinak nehostinné sněžné tundře.
Ve městě je možné potkat vše možnou směsici obyvatelstva od rybářů, lovců kožešin, obchodníků, žoldáků, nejrůznějších kriminálníků a dalších jedinců se zašlou reputací. V hojné míře se zde najdou jak lidé, tak trpaslíci a i půl-orci.
Obrana města je složena z 270 sloužících vojáků. Dalších případných 250 můžu ve zbrani je v záloze jako domobrana a je povoláno v případě nouze. Město často operuje i s variabilní složkou žoldáků a dobrodruhů.
Jako v každém městě Desetiměstí i v Bryn Shanderu jsou prováděny obětiny Auril, k usmíření jejího hněvu. Zde je oběť, ale největší a to v podobě lidských životů. Oběť je losována náhodně v tzv. "Loterii".
